  • Gosh, it is already the 2nd last day of Jan!!

Still raining very wet, even the printer paper is limp and damp!!

But even though we have surpassed last Jan rain we havent flooded like that!

I am rewriting this as I didnt save it - Drat!

We have just come back from 4 days over on a little island in Moreton Bay called Coochiemudlo. Because of the rain didnt even get to walk the 4kl circumference but had a couple of little walks. Went with David and Sharon and we just veged. Played board games, ipads, watched tennis, cricket, and read - generally blobbed, and it was good, great ...

  • Gosh, it is already the 13th Jan

Fri 13th - what a great day to be alive!!!!!!

Firstly I must apologise for not writing earlier. How can I expect dear friends to walk this road with us if I dont fill you in on what is happening. Sooooooo sorry.

I trust you had a great Christmas and enjoyed good times over New Year.

I am back on the weekly treadmill at the Wesley, have had 2 chemos and so far so good. Guess this little bit of hair fluff on my head will come out in the next few days, but other than extra pain and sensitivity ...

  • A Happy and Blessed Christmas

Jesus is the Reason for The Season - I pray that at this special but often frantically busy time we will not forget that His birth is the reason we celebrate Christmas.

We are back from a great hol in Vic - we had mostly good weather (gee it can be cold down in the deep south), saw some incredible scenery and marvels of nature, had some precious times with Dave and Jules, Jill and Neil, Jules dad Graeme and special school friend and fellow journeyer Sue and husband Michael. It is the people that make life precious, hey.

    Here ...

  • Hi Again

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanting to touch base since being off line for a while. we are off to the Great Ocean Road for a little R&R and then we are back and into the
    Christmas stuff.

Well all continues to be ok (in a manner of speaking ) with health things. I am still praying for the liver figures to go into the black completely but the Dr is happy with the stability. Oh how wonderful it would be to see all this change for the better completely. We will just keep hanging in for the miracle.

    We think of ...

  • One Year ago–where has it gone.

It is hard to believe that it is exactly one year ago that I was put in the Wesley and given rather shocking life expectancy news.

Well the Dr might be saying that it is his wonderful drugs that has done the trick, and cant come to thinking it could be  anything else, but we know better. I am grateful for his diligence and care.  I cant exactly say it has been a joy ride but I have been incredibly held and sustained thru this past year by my God, my family and so many friends. Seth started this ...

  • Mixed Bag!?

    Hi Everyone,

Today was another visit to Wesley – results on the liver counts are not as good as last week. Now have 3 in the red. Having a little joke at the front reception counter we decided that I would not wear my red wig on Tues again!!!!

Yes it is disappointing,  and I am just trying to deal with this little setback, I guess for me the journey just keeps on keeping on. I will just put my self in Jesus’s hands and keep going – havent got anything better that I can do hey? I have my ...

  • Yeh–another finished item!

At the end I will download pic of another wall hanging that I finished yesterday. it had to be delivered for inclusion in the up coming Quilt show. I seem to need deadlines. The hibiscus flower is in memory of my Grandma who called them hibiscuits, but also Marks Mum grew some incredible ones that our whole family just loved seeing. She grew them the size of dinner plates some of them.

On the health front, the Liver figures are all down except one, which is great, but the red and white cell count is low which leaves me open ...

  • Life, Liver and Lettuce!!!

Not sure what the lettuce has to do with anything but it would be nice if the weather got a bit warmer so we would be inclined to eat more salad. My goodness, it is the middle of Sept and we are still wearing long sleeves in the day and heaters etc at night, or maybe I am just woossy!

Anyway, i will report on the results today first. All blood levels are  moving in the right directions. The liver ones particularly are moving downwards but I still only have 1 in the black – 2 almost there but ...

  • Ride to Conquer Cancer–Today!!!!!

It was a very cool morning this am when we headed in to the Qld Uni where the ride started from – especially as it was 4.30am. We picked the lycra covered Seth up, and when we got there it was an amazing spectacle. Driving towards St Lucia was like peak hour. There were people everywhere, tents for breaky, info, drop off for overnight gear, merchandise and so on. Part of the uni was blocked off with a stage and a starting line.

There were speeches and also one guy who is still on the cancer journey spoke, and had ...
