Life, Liver and Lettuce!!!

Not sure what the lettuce has to do with anything but it would be nice if the weather got a bit warmer so we would be inclined to eat more salad. My goodness, it is the middle of Sept and we are still wearing long sleeves in the day and heaters etc at night, or maybe I am just woossy!

Anyway, i will report on the results today first. All blood levels are  moving in the right directions. The liver ones particularly are moving downwards but I still only have 1 in the black – 2 almost there but not quite. The Dr is pleased, but it does need to improve considerably yet. I have not got much hair left and am wearing my wigs again which I actually like better than the fuzz ball that was growing. Maybe next time it will come back straighter. (wishful thinking)

Last week Mark celebrated his 60th with a surprise (not happy jan!) dinner with about 64 people. It was a great night and when he got over the shock and settled his angst with moi, he enjoyed it. we felt it was necessary to honour him especially after the last 3 years. He is an amazing husband, father, papa, friend, mentor, brother and in-law etc and Godly man, so it was great that we could show that. He got an ipad – everyone is wondering if he will be able to work it and also whether he will leave it on the train, but we are all hopeful. Also we are sending him off to Tas in Nov to do some bush walking with Dennis Bewsher. He has been wanting to do that for years. All in all he had a great birthday!

My Dad arrived from Tas today for Tegan’s wedding on Sat so it is non stop around here with Soph and Ebony’s birthday next week as well as Jess 30th. Jess and Ben are going on a week’s hol along the Great Ocean Rd. That is another place we have not been – it will be great for them.

I just want to attach a pic of Uluru that I have been promising, so here goes.

Thanks again for dear friends and all the love and support you end us.

Picture colour isnt too bad but could be a bit richer in depth – gives you an idea though. Lady who commissioned it was absolutely ecstatic – phew!

    Love it Barb. Fabulous work!
Not the scene we saw a few months back - it was grey and very wet then.

    Hi Barb,
you remind me of the energizer bunny. You just keep going and going. An inspiration to us all. I just spent a week in Malaysia (Borneo) and nearly bought you a headscarf the muslim ladies wear. They're quite beautiful but didn't know if you'd take it as a compliment so thought the better of it.
    take care

WOW Barb, your quilt if fantastic.  Having been there, it is a very accurate representaion.  Glad all is going well and mark had a wonderful birthday.  Birthday wishes from us.  Also, tell ben and Jess that if they are in the vicinity of Porarlington on a Sunday while they are down  south we would love to see them.  We are so close to the Great Ocean Road.

    Love as always,

    Jules

Brilliant Uluru.   You have made it look better even than it really is.
Delighted that the results are going in a positive direction.  You deserve that they should.
    You are my inspiration.
    Much love,
    Daphne.
